  • Yes. In accordance with ASNZS 3760 standard, businesses across Australia are required by law to ensure they are up to date on test tagging within their workplace.

    Failure to be compliant can result in penalties and fines. It can also lead to serious consequences such as, electrical shocks, fires and other hazards.

  • Test tagging is an electrical safety inspection on appliances to the standard of ASNZS 3760.2022. Generally completed within most workplaces including workshops, offices, warehouses, mining and construction.

    Appliances that have been tested then need to be tagged with a tag, this must include test date and retest date of the appliance. It also must include who has completed the test.

  • If you are within the Building, Construction and Demolition, you are required to undertake 3 monthly testing.  

    Factories, Warehouses and Production fall into 6 monthly testing.  

    Here at Safecheck, once we have been engaged to undertake the first round of testing, we will automatically reach out to reschedule in regular testing in accordance with the frequency required within the ASNZS 3760.  

  • In accordance with AS1851, fire extinguishers tagging should occur within the below intervals: 

    • All portable and wheeled fire extinguishers need to be tested every 6 months. 

    • Replaced or refilled every 5 years. 

  • Yes, to comply with AS1851, fire blankets are required to be inspected every 6 months.

  • As governed by the AS1851, businesses must ensure that hydrants are visually inspected every 6 months and a full flow test is completed annually.
