Portable Electrical Appliances

SafeCheck inspects and tests all portable electrical appliances to ensure compliance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760:2010 Electrical Safety Standard. Inspections and testing include visual assessment, earth continuity, insulation resistance and residual current device assessments. We also offer plug and extension cord repair service and replacement.

Inspection cycles are in compliance with AS/NZS 3760:2010 and are performed bi-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, annually, five yearly, when new to service or as requested.

We utilise our SAMA data management system to prepare comprehensive electrical equipment registers that records electrical appliance class, tag numbers, equipment type, pass/fail, date tested and inspected, next inspection due date, tested by, location and comments.

Voltage Reduction Devices

Voltage reduction devices fitted to welding machines reduce the maximum unloaded open circuit voltage to a safe voltage. SafeCheck offers inspection services for voltage reduction devices to ensure their compliance with AS 1674: 2007 Safety in Welding and Allied Processes.

Emergency Lighting

SafeCheck offers clients emergency lighting testing and inspections in accordance with the requirements of AS 2293.1-2005 standard for system design, installation and operation, AS/NZS 2293.2:1995 standard for inspection and maintenance, and AS 2293.3-2005 standard for emergency escape luminaries and exit signs.

Our inspections included six monthly lamp test inspections and replacements, 90-minute discharge tests, annual inspections, and cleaning of fittings and reflective surfaces. Inspections includes assessments on clear illuminated emergency paths, and their effectiveness when used in conjunction with a client’s planned evacuation procedures.

Residual Current Devices (RCD’s)

SafeCheck inspects and tests RCD’s to ensure compliance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760:2010 Electrical Safety Standard and in AS/NZS 3000:2007. Our technicians use RCD testers that are capable of applying rated tripping current and recording time taken to trip.

RCDs are electrical safety devices designed to immediately switch off the supply of electricity when electricity leaking to earth is detected at harmful levels. They offer high levels of personal protection from electric shock.

Microwave Radiation Leakage

SafeCheck offers microwave radiation leakage detection services and compliance testing to the requirements of Australian Standard AS/NZS 60335.2.25 Household and Similar Electrical Appliances – Safety and AS/NZS 3760:2010 Electrical Safety Standard. We test for any microwave leakage above safe limits and ensure annual inspections as per the Standards.
